It is core to the Hippocratic tradition that senior doctors pass on their knowledge and training to more junior medics. As well as forming part of Exeter University’s training scheme for medical students we also train the junior doctors of today to become the family doctors of tomorrow.
Drs Fitzherbert, Longand Perry are accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners and GMC to train junior doctors and we regularly have a complement in the surgery. These young medics work alongside us, helping to care for our patients, all the while under the avuncular eye of their mentors and trainers. We are proud that our former trainees have often gone on to gain places on the advanced ST4 training scheme and then continued to remarkable careers thereafter.
As a trainee or medical student in Clare House you can expect to not just experience first rate general practice but also be exposed to our advance surgical services and our work as emergency physicians with the South West Ambulance Trust. We are justifiably proud of our exceedingly high satisfaction and success rate.
